STudy into the REversal of Septic Shock with Landiolol (Beta Blockade)
Population: ICU patients with septic shock on vasopressors
Interventions: Landiolol (short acting beta blocker) infusion
Comparison: Usual care
Outcomes: Mean SOFA score
Inclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria
>18 years old
Septic shock (according to Sepsis-3arrow-up-right)
Heart rate ≥95 bpm (24h after start of vasopressors)
Receiving noradrenaline for ≥24h
Noradrenaline dose ≥0.1mcg/kg/min
Noradrenaline dose <0.1 mcg/kg/min
>72h after start of vasopressors
Pre-existing severe cardiac dysfunction or untreated 2/3' heart block
PMH: ischaemic stroke, TIA, or untreated severe carotid stenosis
